Welcome and first post...

With the league shifting in unprecedented fashion the past few days and weeks, I've decided to start blogging about all things NBA. The blog will include weekly posts and links on signings, deals, trades, rumors, funny stories, athlete and journalist tweets, videos and more.

The main reason for starting this blog is that I feel I have become a 'go-to' source among my peers and friends for anything related to NBA basketball. Rather than multiple email chains, Facebook posts and comments, and one-off conversations, I want to make this a place where everyone can come to read and share reactions and opinions. The page will act as a forum for all of you to interact and comment to each other, in addition to getting my take on what's happening in the league.

In Your Eye NBA will be heavy on links and references to other blogs, Twitter, and ESPN articles, as these are my main sources for the information I gather. Rather than just report the news however, I plan on offering my opinions and making this a shared space for my 'readers' to exchange comments and conversations with each other.

I also have the blog linked up to my Twitter account (previously nycballa, renamed InYourEyeNBA) which I'll use to tweet and retweet updates, news, info, or links frequently in short form. I'll also send 'text posts' which will operate the same way as the tweets only will show up as actual posts on the left side of the blog instead of within the Twitter box on the right. Lastly, I'll have 'email posts' that I can send directly to my blog.

My first post to the new blog will be my full reaction to the LeBron/Heat ordeal. I hope to see some comments on this one for sure! To comment just click on the 'Comments' link and it will take you to a comment box. Also, if you don't want to comment, at least give your 'Reactions' to a post by clicking 'Follow Up' if you want more information or follow up posts on a certain topic; 'Like,' similar to liking something on Facebook; or ': D' if you think the post is funny.

I'll follow with reactions to the other signings in free agency and trades from the off-season after my first post. Then I'll touch on Summer League action from Orlando and Las Vegas, and offer predictions as we prepare for the beginning of what is sure to be one of the craziest/funnest/remarkable years in the league's history.

Thank you everyone!

- Faith
